THE VISION
The reception and hospitality pavilion of Finca Guzto is envisioned as the symbolic heart of this budding resort—a welcoming threshold where the architectural language of the property first reveals itself. Set against the lush mountain valley of Utuado, the structure embraces a modern yet organically grounded design that echoes the natural rhythms of its surroundings. The building sits lightly on the landscape, opening outward toward the mountains, inviting guests to transition seamlessly from the built environment into the expansive beauty of the outdoors.
A defining feature of the pavilion is its large cantilevered roof, a dramatic horizontal plane that stretches outward like a protective canopy. More than an architectural statement, this roof functions as a grand sun shield, cooling the open common areas beneath and creating soft, shifting patterns of light throughout the day. The exposed concrete surfaces provide a sense of permanence and calm, while warm wood accents—integrated into structural elements and furnishings—counterbalance the modern lines with an inviting, tactile warmth. This interplay between raw and refined materials makes the pavilion feel both contemporary and accessible.
Inside the open-air layout, a series of flexible communal spaces are arranged to encourage connection, relaxation, and immersion in the natural setting. Guests can gather at the bar for a refreshing drink, participate in shared cooking or dining experiences, or lounge in airy meeting spaces that frame views of the valley and surrounding forest. The pavilion’s openness mirrors the resort’s emphasis on exploration and leisure—serving as a central hub from which guests embark on activities such as kayaking on the lake, exploring nature trails, enjoying beach paddle courts, or setting out on RV adventures.
Ultimately, the design of the pavilion reflects the ethos of Finca Guzto itself: a place where luxury and nature coexist effortlessly. Its architecture enhances the landscape rather than competing with it, creating a welcoming gateway into a resort experience defined by tranquility, adventure, and the rich natural beauty of Utuado.
